Psychotherapy and Clinical Consultation

My mind tells me to give up, but my heart won't let me. -- Author Unknown

Tristen Vieaux is a Licensed Professional Counselor in Colorado; I am trained as an EMDR and trauma resolution therapist and as a play and sand tray therapist. My work specializes in children, individuals and couples with:

•  PTSD/Trauma resolution
•  Sexual abuse
•  Depression
•  Anxiety
•  Attachment issues
•  Major life transitions
• A desire for deeper spiritual connection

My passion is helping individuals, couples, and children find the voice that helps deepen intimate knowledge of themselves so that they can create positive connections and relationships with others.

Psychotherapy combined with spirituality are used to bring a unique style to therapy sessions. I have committed my life to healing, developing deeper spiritual connections, and gathering understanding and knowledge through continuous training and education.

I recognize the importance of the connection and integration of the mind, body and spirit in increasing ones quality of life.  I believe every situation and life circumstance is an opportunity for growth, expansion and new discoveries about the world and ones existence.

Clients who want to experience more self-awareness and understanding can find this through psychotherapy.  I can support an individual seeking to grow and live more fully, reduce stress or anxiety, and cope with major life transitions.  An individual who wants to make shifts in life, explore old patterns and beliefs that no longer work, or seek greater insight and self-awareness can find this through making that first step.

I have more than 12 years experience working with children, individuals and couples who struggled through symptoms related to complex trauma, disruption in care through out of home placement foster care and adoption, identity issues, women's domestic violence, rape and incest, life transitions, and grief and loss. I have worked in residential settings, domestic violence shelters, community mental health centers, elementary schools, and private practice.

I graduated from the University of Northern Arizona with a Master's degree in Community Counseling, and received post graduate training as a Clinical Supervisor, Level II EMDR Therapist, and Play Therapist. I am a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC) and a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). I also have a Bachelor's degree in Interpersonal Communication with a Minor in Women's Studies from Arizona State University
